Maximize Spoonflower Sales with Blender Patterns: Join the PSA Challenge!

Join the 2025 Blender Bonanza Challenge

I’ve been doing Erin Kendal’s, Power Sellers Academy, Blender Pattern Challenge, and honestly? It’s really stretching me😅 but in the best way. It’s helped me stay creative, focused, and excited to design.

If you’re just hearing about it, or if the challenge has already passed, don’t worry, the prompts are still useful. Grab the list and start when it works for you. You’ll walk away with a bunch of strong, versatile designs to fill your Spoonflower shop.

As designers we focus largely on our Hero, signature prints, but blenders sell really well on Spoonflower. These are the quiet patterns in your collection, tonal, subtle, textured, but they do a lot of heavy lifting. They support your Hero’s and help tie colour stories together. And most importantly? Customers actually search them out.

Tips That Helped Me Stay Focused and Productive

  • When I started each design, I had a product in mind — like a throw pillow, napkin, or wallpaper. It helped me stay focused and design with purpose.
  • I took down notes for each prompt – pattern ideas, color palettes, and anything I wanted to revisit later. I had multiple ideas for each prompt and this way I won’t loose all track of all the ideas that I would like to explore after the challenge ends.
  • I made a few Instagram templates ahead of time and used Spoonflower mockups to depict how I imagined the design in real life. This saved me a lot of time.

An unexpected perk that came with this challenge was that it helped me get more consistent on Instagram. I didn’t expect that, but it’s been a nice bonus. The templates I built helped me get accustomed to posting without overthinking things.

Work towards a goal

I approached the challenge with a clear goal in mind: to stay consistent, to build up my Spoonflower shop, and to experiment creatively by exploring styles I don’t normally gravitate toward. Some of those experiments turned out to be new favourites, while others offered valuable insight into what does and doesn’t align with my brand, but every design moved me forward. Defining what you want to get out of a challenge not only gives your process direction, it makes the whole experience more productive.

Thinking About Joining In?

If the challenge is still running, jump in. If it’s not, use the prompts at your own pace. This is a great way to stretch creatively, build your shop, and create designs that customers will actually want to use.
